What to Expect on Your First Visit
Relax. We know that the first visit to any new doctor’s office can often be a stressful experience, and we are going to do our best to make this a pleasant experience for you. One way that we can calm some of your apprehension is to let you know what to expect on your first visit.

First we will greet you and of course obtain some information including your driver's license and insurance card so we can begin to coordinate the proper care for you. It is helpful if you can arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment to give us a chance to “get to know you.”

Dress comfortably. Keep in mind that the doctor will need to observe the area of pain. While we often need our patients to be gowned for x-rays and some exams, we will take every measure to insure your privacy.

Please bring any X-rays, MRIs, CT Scans, and/or tests that have been performed in relation to your problem or injury.

A detailed history and examination will be performed to assess your problem, this may include x-rays if indicated. Some treatment will usually be given on the initial visit, especially for those in acute pain.

Expect the first visit to take a little longer. We suggest that you plan on approximately 60 minutes.

Rehabilitation and Treatment Plans
Our doctors and therapists will often recommend a therapy plan with a carefully prescribed and coordinated series treatments, therapies, and exercises to relieve and correct your specific problem. These appointments are usually scheduled in advance to assure you the most convenient appointment times with minimal waiting. Compliance with the recommended treatment schedule is essentially to your recovery. If there is a conflict with a particular appointment, please call so that the time can be rescheduled to preserve the integrity of your treatment plan.
